The idea for these really simple frames came about as a result of mum Eona Craig's frustration with 'fridge door' art. Simply sticking the mini masterpieces created by her then three year old son onto kitchen appliances seemed inappropriate. Eona was galvanised into action after her son caught her editing his beautiful (though abundant) artworks into the bin! His hurt expression inspired her to create him his very own art gallery. Friends saw the galleries and liked them and last autumn Eona and her husband set up Articulate Gallery and began to sell them online to schools, families and galleries.

Articulate Gallery

The special frame, or 'gallery' has been designed to showcase the genius art works created by the young as they go through nursery and primary school. The Articulate Gallery is simple but effective as it allows for the works of art to be easily rotated on a regular basis and can accommodate the 3D collages (with pasta, pipe cleaners, etc) that so often appear home from school and nursery or are created at home. The open-fronted nature of the frame means that you can even appreciate tactile works created by our youngest artists.

The company has been on a really interesting journey, including a stint on Dragons' Den, where Peter Jones and Duncan Bannatyne bought a frame each for their own children - a great endorsement for a new product. I guess at the bottom they are just dads too!

The Articulate Gallery comes in single, double or triple A4 'galleries' but can also be made in A5, A3 or A2 sizes that can be hung either lengthways or vertically. A glazed version of the frame is now also available on request and a new real wood veneer frame will be coming soon.

M&W reviewer Fay says "I love the artwork my two boys Ike (2) and Finn (5) bring home from nursery and school, but we've just had our kitchen redecorated and I don't always want to stick things up with bluetack. Also, some of the pieces which are made with things like pasta are too heavy for the wall and fall off - much to the pleasure of our dog! The gallery looks great and the boys are really proud and LOVE telling visitors to the house that they are artists!"

Articulate Gallery are featured in 'Homewares'.
