Find out more >>We were delighted to have a quick chat with Sara Cox on why she is supporting the Radox "Be Selfish" campaign.
Sara is Mum of two (aged 5 and 1) and currently pregnant with her third baby due in the spring. Sara juggles motherhood and her career as TV presenter and Radio DJ.
Sam Willoughby:: "It’s fantastic you are supporting Radox in their be selfish campaign as busy mums have very little time for themselves and they also feel under massive pressure to do everything and do it perfectly. What advice can you give to these mums so they don’t feel guilty when they have a break?"
Sara Cox: "I love to work, and need to work, but also love spending time with the children. Taking a break keeps me sane. When I wasn't pregnant this was going to the gym, now it's taking a walk to get a decaf coffee or an hour with a magazine, even going to be an hour earlier. I do find it hard to take a break as there is always something that I could be doing but a break does puts me in a better mood and I'm a nicer Mummy!"
SW: What other advice can you give to free up some “me time”
SC: "If you have a supportive partner or friends that can help it makes it a lot easier to take that break."
SW: How did having children change your life?
SC: "What did I do before having children?! Now I'm much more organised, responsible and less selfish. But I think your 20s are a time to be carefree and then having family is part of your life journey. I still try to do things that we used to do like we go to a festival once a year, it just takes a lot more organising and expense to do it now!"
SW: Have you made any plans to change your work life when your baby arrives? Are you taking maternity leave?
SC: "I am taking maternity leave and expect to spending it feeding the new baby and doing the school runs."
SW: Did you and Zoe Ball sharing pregnancy tips?
SC: Zoe has just had her baby, we did a lot of texting!
